Hello, having your own organic garden would be great. You'll be able to access fresh vegetables whenever you need one. I suggest that you put fertilizers on the soil before planting anything. But to much fertilizer is bad too.

Organic Vegetable Gardens are my forte.
We grow all our own vegetables and its 100 per cent organic.
So perhaps I may be able to help on this.
Preperation of the ground is everything, and when the ground is well dug over and all weeds etc removed, planting an organic garden is quite easy.
Decide what you want to grow, and work out when everything has to be planted.
You live in a rural locale, so finding real organic fertiliser will be easy enough.
Basically add the dung to the ground and plant what you want, using no chemicals at all, and hey presto Organic vegetables.
I know little about what infestations like Catepillars you have to deal with there, but there are Chemical Free repelklants and other methods to keep them at bay.
Depending what has been growing in the ground before, I might be tempted to keep it easy the first year and plant Potatoes to "clean" the ground.
I was taught by a man who never used a chemical in his garden in his whole life, my Grandfather,
What area of ground do you wish to make into a vegetable garden. Planting tatties by hand involves quite a lot of digging
but the results will make all the hard work worth it, and leave the grouind in great condition for the next year.
You could always section of a bit and try other things as well,
and the list is endless as most veg is really easy to grow.
