Working Holiday
Written on October 10, 2009 – 11:52 am | by Chris |Well we have the working holidays up and running, we didn’t really start this till quite late last year, we have now had 4 visitors, Brian and Clara, Simon, and Tom, the way it works is; we provide accommodation and meals in return for 5hrs work per day Mon to Fri which also leaves you with the weekends free to explore the local area etc, we have scaled things up for this year so we are able to accommodate more visitors, accommodation at the moment is limited to camping or we have a small builders caravan, a larger caravan and once we have finished the first section of the castle (scheduled for May) we will also have a much larger, more modern caravan available (the one we are currently in) soon after one or two bedrooms in the castle.
Due to popular demand my wife (who is fluent French) will be giving free French lessons every week for anyone interested in learning the language, once the weather gets a little better we are going to make Friday night BBQ night with fully equipped disco and sound system.
The main project this year will be to complete the first section and start work on the second section, also the patio area at the back of the castle where we intend to create a large patio with swimming pool, gazebo and Barby area, We will be starting the large organic veggie garden as soon as the weather improves, we also have plans to build a large chicken shed for 100 chickens, this will give us fresh eggs, organic veg and fresh free range meat.
We look forward to seeing old friends and new
You can visit for anything from a week to several weeks, if you are interested then use the contact button and send us a email.
